Doreen Mirams Memorial Charitable Fund Inc.

My parents have helped me start a charity in my Grandma's name. The charity is focused on fighting cancer, the disease that took my Grandma away from us, by supporting cancer patients who are struggling financially and emotionally. We will be hosting fundraising events constantly including my annual golf tournament.

By being a registered 501(c)(3) charity (EIN 47-1992300) we hope this will help increase the breadth of support we receive and awareness to my efforts.

This year(2018), the Mirams Fund has financed survivorship programs to address the stress related to a cancer diagnosis. In addition, there were a total of 32 patients who received financial grants from the Mirams Fund that included: transportation, electric, rent/mortgage, tube feeding, medical supplies not covered by insurance, car repair, gas, wig, and heating oil.

Excerpt of a thank you letter received from a grateful Hughes Cancer Center patient and recipient of the

Doreen Mirams Memorial Cancer Fund

“We were quickly going into debt due to rising medical bills. My insurance wasn’t covering enough of the costs and we were left with large sums of money to pay out-of-pocket. We were lost and didn’t know what to do. Our social worker at the Hughes Cancer Center told us about the Mirams Fund to help people who are in financial distress. My husband and I were overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity. We were provided a wonderful gift to lighten our financial burden. This gift allow me to continue my treatments giving us the peace of mind to meet our financial responsibilities as I continue my battle with cancer. God bless all the people at the Mirams Fund.”
