New Era AJGA DQ

Well... Yesterday I probably made the biggest mistake in my golf career. I played at the AJGA New Era Junior Championship the last two days. On the first day I made a mistake of not paying attention to my own score. I was on the 5th hole, a par 3, I hit short of the green, ran a chip just past the flag off the green, chip back to the flag to about 5 feet and lipped out for bogey. The lip out rattled me and I wasn’t paying very much attention to my game. My playing partner said, “good four” and I just assumed in my head that I had a four without thinking about the actual hole. As the match went on I seemed to have forgotten about it. I arrived at the scoring tent and I signed for the wrong score. I was disqualified today as it was brought to the attention of the staff after my round. I am very disappointed in myself at how I could let this happen. I have learned to check my scores after every hole which I normally do. I want to apologize to all the people who I have let down, and I can assure everyone that it will not happen again. I made a mistake and I am very heartbroken that I have to leave the tournament.
